It is a completely Australian made, gravity water purifier using the efficient, well proven ceramic and activated carbon, combination filtering candle.( New & supplied with unit) The overall height is approx.52 cm.
It features a large 10 litre storage capacity with a design that is not only atheistically pleasing to look at but also prevents the overflow problem that is present in the two piece systems.
As depicted in the diagram the water you wish to filter is placed in the filter pot that contains the ceramic filter candle which has a threaded nozzle passing through the filter pot with a food grade rubber washer internally and externally, and firmly secured in place with wing nut, making the upper chamber ( filter pot ) water tight.
The water then passes through the micro-porous ceramic candle, containing activated carbon that filters out or greatly reduces Chlorine, Chloroform (predominant THM), Lindane, Chlordane, Dieldrin, E-coli (bacteria), Giardia, Cyptosporidium (Cysts), Aluminium, Copper, Lead, suspended solids such as rust, dirt, amoeba, unpleasant taste and odour, among other things, down to one micron.
The stoneware storage barrel, and stoneware filter pot are fired to 1300 deg.C. It is fully glazed with food safe glazes, and has neutral p.h. The stoneware has excellent insulation properties, also by not letting in any light your clean filtered water will remain pure and fresh for long periods of time.
