Should city water be filtered, or is a rain water tank a better alternative?

If you live in the city your water is generally safe from pathogens harmful bacteria and viruses, but you do have chlorine, rust and dirt particles and other suspended solids that affect the taste and quality. With a rain water tank you should protect yourself from Guardia, Cryptosporidium and harmful bacteria, along with other contaminants washed from your roof into your water tank.

How does the filter candle work?

Firstly, in simple English, the outside white part of the filter candle has very, very fine holes( 1 micron) that works as a screen, filtering out every thing over the particle size of one micron, ( this includes dirt and rust particles , it also .includes living organisms, amoeba and the like).

After passing the initial filtering process, the granular activated carbon contained inside the filter candle, filters out, or absorbs other impurities, such as chlorine, other unpleasant tastes and odour the filter candle is treated with Silver Nitrate, this acts as an antibacterial, stopping bacteria breeding and guarding against other water borne organisms

How long does the filter candle last?

6 months is the recommended replacement period, it has been suggested that at 900 litres the filter candle should be replaced, but who counts litres?

How much do the replacement filter candles cost?

There are several brands of gravity filter candles, such as 'Waterco' 'Stefani' 'Pozzani' 'Australis' and of course the. Australian made ' Hi-Tech Ceramics' filter candle which is supplied with every unit.

What if I purchase a water purifier and it's broken when it arrives?

If shipping and insurance was included when purchased, your purifier will be replaced at no extra cost

What is the actual amount of water storage in your water purifier?

In most instances there is 10 litres of available filtered water, when full. Unlike some water purifiers that measure their overall capacity, not what they actually hold.
